Queen Creek Police Department’s Enhanced Public Safety with SPIDR Tech

The Queen Creek Police Department (QCPD) has taken a significant step forward in enhancing public safety and communication with the introduction of SPIDR Tech, a cutting-edge tool designed to improve the way the department interacts with residents. Announced on Monday, August 26, 2024, this new technology is poised to streamline communication processes and elevate the level of customer service provided by the QCPD.

SPIDR Tech is an advanced communication platform that automates the distribution of text messages, emails, and mobile surveys to individuals who have reported incidents, called 911, or been involved as victims. This innovative tool provides real-time updates and transparency, ensuring that residents remain informed throughout the course of a police response.

One of the standout features of SPIDR Tech is its ability to send automated text messages to individuals who place calls to the QCPD’s non-emergency line at 480-480-3500 or to 911. Upon making a call, the reporting party will receive an acknowledgment text message, with the option to opt out of further messaging if desired. This initial contact is followed by regular updates on the status of the police response, including any delays that may occur due to higher-priority calls.

Additionally, SPIDR Tech offers crime victims a new level of engagement by allowing them to opt in to receive updates on their case status, even if they were not the original caller. These updates can include information about the status of the investigation, the assigned investigators, and other relevant details. Victims also have the opportunity to provide feedback through surveys, further enhancing the department’s commitment to accountability and continuous improvement.

While SPIDR Tech provides residents with valuable real-time information, it’s important to note that the system is designed for one-way communication. Residents will not be able to send text communications to dispatchers, ensuring that the focus remains on timely updates and transparent communication.

The introduction of SPIDR Tech marks a significant milestone in the QCPD’s ongoing efforts to foster a safer, more connected community. By leveraging this innovative technology, the department is ensuring that residents are kept informed and engaged throughout the law enforcement process.

Here are the key benefits that SPIDR Tech offers to residents:

  • Automated Acknowledgment: Sends an automated text message to acknowledge calls placed to the QCPD non-emergency line or 911.
  • Real-Time Updates: Provide regular updates on police response status, including any delays due to higher-priority calls.
  • Case Status Notifications: Allows crime victims to opt in for regular updates on their case status, including assigned investigators and other relevant information.
  • Customer Feedback Surveys: Distribute mobile surveys to crime victims for feedback, enhancing departmental accountability.
  • Opt-Out Flexibility: Residents have the option to opt out of receiving further messages after the initial acknowledgment.
  • One-Way Communication: Ensures clear and focused communication by not allowing residents to send texts back to dispatchers.

These features collectively enhance transparency, improve communication, and foster trust between the Queen Creek Police Department and the community it serves.

For more information about the Queen Creek Police Department and its initiatives, residents are encouraged to visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/QCPD and follow their official social media channels at Facebook.com/QueenCreekPolice.

Organize and Update Your Garage Without Spending a Fortune

If a complete garage remodel isn’t in the picture this year, you can still spruce up your space with some of these easy, budget-friendly ideas to organize and update your garage.

Storage
Sporting equipment, tools, lawn care, and snow removal, automotive… there’s no shortage of stuff to store in the average garage. Use as much vertical space as possible. Wall shelves, hanging hooks, cabinets, and peg boards. You can even hang shelves and hooks from the ceiling.

Build your own or purchase from an array of garage-friendly designs intended to hold supplies, tools, or plastic totes. Consider rolling or pull-out shelves to maximize space and specialized storage for specialized gear – like bicycles and your collection of fishing poles. Whatever you choose, ensure it’s strong, durable, and easy to use.

Workspace
Without a space to work, any amount of storage feels inconvenient. You can repurpose an old desk or table or build a workspace into a wall of cabinets or shelves. Keep your most used tools nearby and handy. The backdrop of a workbench is a great place for a pegboard or a sheet metal magnet board.

Power and Light
Adding outlets around your garage, especially near the workstation, will make anything you plan to do easier. Ensure you have enough overhead light as well as task lights over any workspaces, and the garage is an ideal place for motion-activated lights.

Floors
A nice epoxy coating on the floor protects from cracks, grease, and stains and looks great. A layer of rubberized interlocking floor tiles can add visual appeal. But a good cleaning and patching can do wonders as well.

Insulation
Insulation on the walls and the overhead doors can keep your garage cooler in the summers and warmer in the winters – a great investment if you spend a lot of time in your garage year-round.

Just for Fun
And lastly, don’t be shy about adding some personality to your garage. This is a great space for a bright, fun paint color on the walls and eclectic wall art. The way you display your tools in neat rows or arrange your kayaks on the wall can impact the feel of your space as well. There’s no reason not to have a little fun in the garage.

The addition of Safeway, complete with fuel islands, marks just the beginning of what this vibrant new shopping center will offer.

Breakfast lovers, rejoice! Queen Creek is about to welcome two new dining spots that are sure to become your go-to breakfast destinations.

Ellsworth Loop Road), First Watch is set to bring its signature fresh and healthy breakfast, brunch, and lunch options to town. Known for its made-to-order dishes and seasonal menus, First Watch is a perfect fit for those who value a good morning meal.
  • Eggstasy: Another exciting addition is Eggstasy, which will open at the southeast corner of Ellsworth Loop and Rittenhouse roads. This popular breakfast joint is known for its creative and hearty breakfast options, making it a great spot to start your day or enjoy a leisurely brunch with family and friends.
  • Toasted Yolk Cafe: This upcoming restaurant will be located at the corner of Riggs and Ellsworth roads, according to the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce. With a menu featuring everything from classic breakfast dishes to unique offerings like their famous “Churro Donuts,” Toasted Yolk Cafe is sure to become a favorite among locals.
  •

Farmer Boys: Fast Casual with a Drive-Thru

For those days when you’re craving a quick, yet delicious meal, Farmer Boys Restaurant is planning to open in the Spur Cross retail complex at the northeast corner of Signal Butte and Ocotillo roads. Known for its farm-fresh burgers, sandwiches, and salads, Farmer Boys will also feature a convenient drive-thru, making it a great option for a quick bite on the go.
